If a sponsored affiliate has a UnivID or SUNet ID, you can use Sponsorship Manager to search and sponsor them as before. But notice the brand new search interface!

As well, to minimize confusion and service disruptions caused by a person having more than one person records in Stanford's systems, for affiliates coming to Stanford and needing a new SUNet ID, we've changed how SUNet IDs are created.

Step 1. The sponsor Goes into Sponsorship Manager (use sponsorship-uat.stanford.edu for testing) to search for this person using the Person search tab.

Step 2. If an existing record for the person cannot be found, "refine search" or make sure you've entered the person's last name, birth date, and external email. Then create a new record for that person and sponsor his/her account.

Step 3. The person being sponsored will receive an email with a unique link to create SUNet ID. In UAT, the email is sent to the sponsor for testing purposes.

The person being sponsored will follow the link to accounts.stanford.edu to create the account. Alternatively, the person can go to accounts.stanford.edu and copy-paste the registration code in the email -- use account-uat.stanford.edu in UAT testing.)
